Holy crap it’s 2016! Where does the time go? I was supposed to be posting on a more regular schedule. Oh well, better late than never I suppose.
Usually the first post of the new year is dedicated to outlining new year’s resolutions, but since most of those have already been broken it seems like an exercise in futility to re-hash them. Instead, let me run through what happened over the past few months: the highlight reel stuff – not the boring, day to day slog of banging my head against the computer sitting down to write. Let me focus on the shit that got done:
- Linda was an official selection for the Censured in Canada Film Festival
- I pitched Dodge & Burn at the ATX Television Festival
- Epic Canadiana 2 was published
- I wrote my first novel for NaNoWriMo
So what? That’s what you’re thinking, right? Sure. It’s a small list of accomplishments, but its important to keep track of what’s been done in order to inform where you’re headed. Putting words on the page is one thing, but finishing projects and sending them out into the world is absolutely crucial.
That’s the lesson I took from 2015. Get. Shit. Done. What did 2015 mean to you?
